5 Comedy Gigs in Delhi Worth Stepping Out For

As life is slowly crawling back to normalcy, people are getting their entertainment fix by dropping in to catch movies at theatres or chilling at their favourite restaurants. Another great way to let your hair down is by letting stand-up comedians tickle your funny bone as they take their acts offline. Here are a few you absolutely need to attend.

Bas Kar Bassi

Anubhav Singh Bassi has been many things – a lawyer, UPSC aspirant, an entrepreneur and now he’s finally settled on being a stand-up comedian. Bassi believes failures should be celebrated because he views them as achievements. He shares the story of his career choices and struggles, which are nowhere in the league of Ananya Panday’s struggle.
When: Tuesday, December 22 to Monday, December 28 at 7pm.
Where: MIC Drop, South Extension and Studio XO Bar, Sector 29, Gurugram.

Sab Scam Hai by Gaurav Kapoor

Having attended a Gaurav Kapoor (pictured above) show in Mumbai where he had a packed house roll in their seats with laughter, we can attest that the man is pretty funny. And knows how to work a crowd. His conversational manner of speaking, the steady flow of Hindi which somehow makes the jokes more relatable, his ability to command a stage and spin a yarn, the more ridiculous the better are reasons enough to book yourself a ticket to his show.
When: Sunday, December 20 at 3pm.
Where: The Piano Man, Sector 15, Gurugram.

Uncommon Sense with Jeeveshu Ahluwalia

The exact opposite of tall, dark and handsome, the optimistically short and cute Jeeveshu Ahluwalia credits his eccentric friends for his observational style of humour. Ahluwalia believes his quick wit and hilarious punchlines have played a huge role in saving him from disasters and he combines all the joy of a big fat Punjabi guy’s perspective on life to make people go haha.
When: Sunday, December 27 at 6pm.
Where: MIC Drop, South Extension Part 2.

Market Down Hai by Gaurav Gupta

A self-professed dentist by profession and comic by recession, Gaurav Gupta is really famous for his Being Baniya video that’s racked up over a million views on Facebook and YouTube. In his brand new solo act titled Market Down Hai, Gupta jokes about emotional blackmail, an art mastered by Indian parents and relatives.
When: Sunday, January 3, 2021, at 3pm.
Where: The Piano Man, Sector 15, Gurugram.

Please Interrupt by Nishant Tanwar

Want to let your inner heckler run rampant and yell out inappropriate things? This is just the show for you. Forget all the rules you know and follow for comedy gigs – Nishant Tanwar wants you to toss them out of the window and interrupt him as much as possible. So take his pictures. Ask him embarrassing questions. Heckle his jokes. One up them, if you can. Tanwar is ready for you.
When: Sunday, January 9, 2021, at 8pm.
Where: The Central Club of Comedy, DLF Phase 3, Gurugram.
