Bollywood superstar. Singer. Global icon. Hollywood star in the making. In India, we stan one queen – Priyanka Chopra Jonas. One of the few self-made women in an industry known for nepotism, Chopra should get a t-shirt saying ‘Veni Vidi Vici’, which is what she did to Bollywood and to an extent, Hollywood. The next epithet she’s adding to her list of accomplishments is a writer with her memoir Unfinished: A Memoir, which launches globally on Tuesday, February 9 at 7 pm.
Published by Penguin, the book takes you through PC’s life: from when she was raised in small-town India by her grandparents to her teenage years spent with extended family in America. She then touches upon her meteoric rise and rise to fame starting with Miss India followed by Miss World followed by lording over as queen of Bollywood for years. Of course, it wasn’t without its fair share of challenges, setbacks and disappointments. Oh, and for the romantics, there are also details about how she met and fell in love with her husband, pop heartthrob Nick Jonas. Chopra Jonas is known for her wit, sass and humour and we’re hoping that translates into the book as well.
Catch the actor at the global launch of her book in a pre-recorded discussion with friend, bibliophile and fellow actor Sonali Bendre.
