5 Plays To Watch At The Qadir Ali Baig Theatre Festival 2020

With his commanding baritone and larger than life stage presence, Qadir Ali Baig ruled the theatre scene in Hyderabad from the 1970s to the 1980s. He was known for staging social dramas and period plays that recreated the opulence of the Mughal era. The thespian is especially remembered for his performances in Sakharam Binder, Khamosh Adalat Jaari Hai and Quli Qutb Shah. In 2005, his son Mohammed Ali Baig established the Qadir Ali Baig Theatre Foundation with the intent of reviving theatre culture in Hyderabad. Thus, the Qadir Ali Baig Theatre Festival came into inception.
