The Symphony Orchestra of India (pictured above) was founded in 2006 by NCPA Chairman Khushroo N. Suntook and violin virtuoso Marat Bisengaliev, who serves as the Orchestra’s Music Director. Zane Dalal was appointed Associate Music Director of the SOI in 2014 after serving seven years as Resident Conductor with Mikel Toms as the current Resident Conductor.
After a long wait without any concerts in the current pandemic, catch the Symphony Orchestra of India’s core group of musicians, called the SOI Chamber Orchestra performing Joesph Haydn’s cello concerto No. 1, Johann Sebastian Bach’s violin and oboe concerto, Benjamin Britten’s Simple Symphony, among other works.
