After months of being closed because of the Covid-19 pandemic, Prithvi Theatre has opened its doors. It’s time to watch dramas as they ought to be watched – in a theatre, facing the stage. Here’s the line-up for March.
‘The Vagina Monologues’
The Vagina Monologues debuted in India in 2003 and since then has been pushing the envelope when it comes to talking about women, female sexuality and sex.

‘Piya Behrupiya’
Atul Kumar directs this musical Hindi adaptation of Shakespeare’s comedy, The Twelfth Night wherein a cross-dressing Viola attempts to woo Olivia on behalf of Orsino. In an interesting turn of events, Olivia falls for Viola instead, setting the stage for a comedy of errors.

‘Gandhi’
Written, directed and performed by Makarand Deshpande, Gandhi (pictured above) strives to answer whether the Mahatma’s beliefs of peace and non-violence are relevant in today’s times.

‘Manto, Ismat….Haazir Hain’
Watch actors such as Ratna Pathak Shah, Imaad Shah, Dhruv Kalra and more perform Hindustani adaptations of Saadat Hasan Manto’s ‘Bu‘, ‘Titwal Ka Kutta‘ and Ismat Chughtai’s ‘Lihaf‘ and ‘Un Byaahtaon Ke Naam’.
