Hungama Artist Aloud, a platform dedicated to promoting and supporting independent content creators, is hosting the fourth edition of its World Music Day Festival, this time streamed online due to the global pandemic. Mame Khan, Parikrama, Anand Bhaskar and Hardeep Grewal will perform original songs from their homes for the festivities. Catch them all in an online concert series on World Music Day on Sunday, June 21, starting at 12pm.
Rajasthani playback and Manganiyar folk singer Mame Khan has recorded songs for various Bollywood films such as Luck by Chance, No One Killed Jessica, Mirzya and Sonchiriya. He also featured on the second season of Coke Studio. Of course, the show that brought him to the world state was Roysten Abel’s fantastic production The Manganiyar Seduction, in which he was the lead vocalist.
Delhi band Parikrama have been a staple of the rock scene in India for decades. Watch the veteran rockers perform their hits, taking some of you right back to college.
Anand Bhaskar leads the Anand Bhaskar Collective, also known to fans of the band as ABC or The Collective. His music fuses Indian classical with alt rock.
Hardeep Grewal, the Punjabi singer responsible for hits such as ‘Unstoppable’ and ’24 Carat’, will belt out some rousing tracks.
