10 Time Bollywood Gave Us Travel Goals

There are a lot of things that go in making of a Bollywood movie. From a good star cast to some memorable dialogues, and also some upbeat/beautiful songs. A Bollywood movie is a mixture of some major and some minor requirements, each vitally important. One of this requirement is having a picturesque location. Bollywood has covered the snow-caped mountains of Switzerland and Himalayas, and some beaches of Rio and Goa. They even manage to make villages look quaint and inviting.  Road trips, cruise ships, treks, getting stranded on an island, bachelor party trips, songs, etc are some of the ways they make us fall in love with exotic locations and give us some breathtaking travel goals. Let’s take a look at some globe-trotting ideas that Bollywood gave us.

Yeh Jawaani Hai Diwaani

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani

Streets of Kashmir, peaks of a snow-caped mountains in the Himalayas, the royal city of Udaipur along with some shots of streets in Paris. Need we say more? This film is a treat for all who make travel bucket lists.

A road trip with friends sounds like the most ideal thing in the world. A road trip to Goa with friends; nothing can be better.  Not only is the road amazingly scenic, also when the location moves to Sydney it gets even better.

This movie can make you feel that getting stranded on an island isn’t the most worst thing in the world. Not when that island is secluded and surrounded by the most beautiful natural rock formations and blue water as far as your eyes see.  The islands name is Krabi and it is in Thailand. It is not secluded but it is still very beautiful. If mountains are your thing, New Zealand has some snowy slopes you can ski on.

Queen - BookMyShow

Also known as a single lady’s guide to touring Europe. This movie narrates the story of a woman travelling alone in Europe and discovering herself. Isn’t that what travelling is all about. If you are planning a trip to Europe, this is one of the movies you should watch to help you plan your trip.

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara

Another movie for when you are planning that trip to Europe or your bachelor party is Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. Seeing the cities at their best during the festivals or travelling cross-country in a convertible with some delightful music in the background, this movie gives you some serious travelling blues.

Tamasha - BookMyShow

One word – Corsica. A very scenic but not very popular holiday spot, is now immensely popular because of Bollywood. Corsica is a small island in the Mediterranean and it has the rare feature of having beaches and mountains all in one. In short, a treat for everyone.

This movie is also one of those movies that give you amazing locations to check out in Europe and Australia. From exotic locations like Italy, Greece and Switzerland to the attractive and pleasing farms of Punjab. The song Khuda Jaane was shot in Greece, Venice and Capri.

Dhoom 2

Dhoom 2 - BookMyShow

Dhoom 2 was the first movie to be shot in Brazil and it helped a huge deal in adding the country to our travel list. The beaches were colorful and the scenes from the carnival painted a gorgeous and a glamorous picture.

HighwayHighway - BookMyShow

Whoever said ‘Live for the Journey and not the Destination’ was right. This movie shot along the highways of Himachal Pradesh, Jaipur, Kashmir and Punjab will make you want to hit the road and experience the journey for yourself.

Chennai Express

Chennai Express - BookMyShow

One of those movies which show us that India is truly and undoubtedly a heavenly country. Rohit Shetty has the knack of converting every frame into a work of art. Be it the Dudhsagar Waterfalls in Goa, the lush green hills of Munnar or that Sun setting in Kanyakumari. Each of these locations have been captured so perfectly, that it makes us all want to go and see it with our own eyes.

Did this list give you a severe case a wanderlust? Do you have more examples? Tell us in your comments below and don’t forget to share the joy with your friends.
