5 Times Alia Bhatt Killed It With Her Performances

Alia Bhatt has sparkled since Student of the Year released six years ago. In this time, she has proven herself over and over again. She has experimented with different kinds of roles in her movies. Her journey in Bollywood has been a smooth ascent towards success and her performance has never failed to impress us, even if the movie didn't work at the box office.  Her next film Raazi also boasts of a different role for Alia Bhatt and from what we see in the trailer, she has nailed this as well. Looking back at her six-year-old career, here are five films that define her career for us.

1. Highway

The Patakha Guddi made her debut as a singer with this movie and this was the movie that made everyone sit up and take notice of her as an actor. As a girl who finds freedom in captivity, we haven't seen a more moving performance.

2. Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania

Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania showed us that Alia can do comedy and light-hearted movies as well. After people who were still praising her performance in Highway, she went ahead and showed that a light-hearted romantic comedy is just as easy-peasy for her.

3. Udta Punjab

She went completely de-glam for this role and whatever we saw on screen was a pure Alia Bhatt performance. While performances of all the actors were much appreciated in this movie, she stood out.

4. Dear Zindagi

The youth of today face very different problems than that of the previous generations. No other movie has addressed the issue the way Dear Zindagi did and in a movie with Shah Rukh Khan, her performance got the limelight.

5. Raazi

Alia Bhatt's next is coming to theatres on 11th May and this time she is playing a spy. This is the first time she is trying out some action and she also learned a lot of things like the Morse code for this role. The trailer itself shows us that even this time she will not disappoint. You can check out the trailer here if you haven't already. You can also book your tickets for this movie right here.

Audiences Hail Karnan As A Masterpiece In Tamil Cinema

It’s finally here! ‘Karnan‘ starring Dhanush and directed by Mari Selvaraj has hit the theatres today. Touted to be one of biggest social dramas of the year, the film has been gaining much hype with its poster releases, music videos and the powerful trailer. Karnan also stars Malayalam actor Rajisha Vijaya who makes her Tamil debut with this film, alongside other actors such as Lakshmipriya Chandramouli, Gouri Kishen, Lal, and Yogi Babu in important roles. The cinematography has been handled by Theni Easwaran. Mari Selvaraj gained huge prominence for his grating caste drama ‘Pariyerum Perumal‘ which stunned audiences and critics for its open narration of the horror of the caste divide in society. This time around, the director once again sets the story in the rural milieu with Dhanush playing the titular role and a saviour-like figure of the masses. The audiences have spoken and the reviews are nothing short of stupendous.
