You must have heard that cameras tend to add more weight to your look, but what about your height? Do they make you look taller as well? Maybe if just the right angle, you might look taller than you actually are. Often, directors tend to do that or use a ramp to make his actor look taller for a shot. And when you watch the video, you tend to focus on all the glamorous stuff instead of minute details like the height of the celebrity. It is, hence why you easily assume that the celebrities are taller than they actually are. The revelation happens only when you see them stand next to a tall celebrity at a red carpet event.
