Hip Hip Hurray taught us everything we know about love, friendship and those careful steps we took as we stepped into adulthood. Perhaps the show should have been called the Unofficial Guide to the Teen Years!

Who can forget the five sisters we wish we all had? By the way, we know you’ve tried to imitate Sweety‘s song-and-dance routines at least once. Don’t pretend you didn’t.
Before the many horror movies, there was one word that fueled all of India’s nightmares – Aahat. The show, along with Zee Horror Show, were among the first scarefests on television that 90s kids have had a hard time forgetting.
Byomkesh Bakshi
Before we knew about Sherlock Holmes and James Bond, we had Byomkesh Bakshi. Basu Chatterjee’s epic TV show was most desi kids’ introduction to the world of detectives (as much as Byomkesh hated being called one). Rajit Kapur who played Byomkesh Bakshi in the show is still hailed for his brilliant performance.

One home. Three generations. A whole lot of comedy! Dekh Bhai Dekh was a delightful show that starred some of Indian Television’s funniest actors. The Diwan family‘s day-to-day life resonated with every Indian family, didn’t it?
Shrimaan Shrimati
One of the quirkiest comedies of the ’90s, Shrimaan Shrimati was a delight from the beginning to end. We still remember Archana Puran Singh‘s saying "Keku Ji".
Tu Tu Main Main
Most TV shows explored the friction that exists in a saas-bahu relationship. However, if there was one show that put a humorous spin to it, it was Tu Tu Main Main! We don’t know about you, but we learned all our banter skills from this show.

Office Office
No other show has prepared us for life in India as wonderfully as Office Office. The harsh reality was put forth in a lighthearted yet matter-of-fact way, which made us laugh and think, at the same time.
Zabaan Sambhalke
One of the most fun Indian TV shows, Zabaan Sambhalke was the rare example of an adaptation done right. Though we love Mind Your Language, it’s safe to say that the Indian adaptation was just as delightful, if not better!
