Binged On Tandav Over The Weekend? Here’s What You Should Watch Next

If there is one thing we would have loved to borrow from 2021 was the continuation of the Indian web series. Web series like Family Man and Pataal Lok made our 2020 a little better and we could not wait for the Saif Ali Khan starrer Tandav to release on Amazon Prime Video. While you might have caught up with the series over the weekend, the wait for season 2 could not be longer. While we all wait for the next season, here are some Bollywood movies you can watch.

Rajneeti

Whenever we think of political movies, Rajneeti is the first movie that comes to our mind. The movie was a modern retelling of Mahabharata with some performances that we remember even today.

Peepli [Live]

Tandav throws a little light on farmer issues and protests but if you want to do a deeper dive, Peepli Live is the movie to watch. The movie is light and filled with comic elements but still manages to make us aware of the problems faced by the farmers.

Yuva

Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub in Tandav plays a student who enters the world of politics to bring about a real change. We have seen his happen on the big screen before when Mani Ratnam‘s Yuva hit the theatres. Look out for some familiar music when you watch this movie.

Satta

Directed by Madhur Bhandarkar, Raveena Tandon plays Anuradha who relocates to Mumbai and marries Vivek (Sameer Dharmadhikari), an aspiring politician. When Vivek is arrested, Anuradha enters the world of politics and understands their workings.

Thackeray

This movie is based on the life of Balasaheb Thackeray, a cartoonist with a no-nonsense personality who plays a key role in the birth of the Shiv Sena and goes on to become the most influential political leader in Maharashtra.

Shanghai

We read a lot of political controversies and scams in newspapers, this is one of those movies that sees a group of regular men and women trying to unravel the mystery behind a social activist’s death.

Streaming on: Amazon Prime Video

Nayak: The Real Hero

The story of a common man becoming CM for a day and changing the face of a city might sound aspirational but it is something we would all like to see sometimes. If you are looking for something like that, then Nayak should be the next movie you should watch.
