From his web series, Mirzapur to playing the perfect dad in Gunjan Saxena, this man of the hour won our hearts. Pankaj Tripathi will now be seen next in ‘Kaagaz‘, a film that is being presented by none other than superstar Salman Khan.
Kaagaz is being helmed by actor-director Satish Kaushik who is making a comeback after six long years with this film. This biographical movie is based on the life of Lal Bihari (Pankaj Tripathi), a farmer from a small village in Uttar Pradesh who is declared dead by the government on official papers. This film depicts his relentless fight to prove that he is indeed alive while also exposing the corrupt system that exists.
In an interview, Tripathi said that he was drawn to this world and it didn’t take him much time to understand the complexities of it. He further said that as soon as the script came to him from Satish he immediately said yes. Another reason why this film is special for Pankaj Tripathi is because he is carrying the film on his shoulders as the lead actor. In another interview, he talked about how he never thought a “45-year old plain-looking guy” like him could land a lead role.
Kaagaz also stars Monal Gajjar and Amar Upadhyay among others. So mark your calendars for January 7 which is when Kaagaz is all set to premiere on Zee5.
