John Wick 2: Film Review – Double The Fun, Double The Body Count

John Wick 2: Film Review – Double The Fun, Double The Body Count

Verdict: Keanu Reeves packs more than a punch in this action-packed movie.

He is back and how! Keanu Reeves stars and shines in the sequel to his 2014 hit movie, John Wick. Taking the story forward, the second installment has double the action. John Wick (Reeves) is assigned to kill Gianna (Claudia Gerini), the sister of Italian crime lord, Santino D'Antonio (Riccardo Scamarcio). On completion of the task, Wick will be a free man and can live his life on his own terms. But D'Antonio double-crosses him by sending his men to murder John Wick.

With an open contract of seven million dollars for his head, every minute is a fight for survival for John. It doesn't help that Cassian (Lonnie Rashid Lynn, Jr.), Gianna's bodyguard, is also after his life. The rest of the film showcases the cat-and-mouse chase between John and his enemies. The first part of the series was a superhit as people loved to see Keanu Reeves in an action-packed movie again. The actor packs a punch in this one too. John Wick 2 has a solid plot but it is the action sequences that make it a fun watch. Director Chad Stahelski keeps things slick and some of the scenes will definitely blow your mind. Also, the way John Wick 2 ends, there is scope for a third part, which we hope they make.

John Wick 2

John is a one-man army who even manages to kill people even with a pencil. Reeves plays the part to perfection, looking suave in those custom-made suits. The rest of cast has very little screen time with only Santino D'Antonio and Lonnie Rashid Lynn, Jr. (aka Common) making a lasting impression. Ruby Rose, who only communicates through sign language, is completely wasted as D'Antonio’s right hand.

Why You Should Watch This Movie:

Watch this one if you love action films. You barely get a breather from the fight sequences, as they happen in quick succession. Keanu Reeves, who is known to excel in such films, doesn’t disappoint either. So don’t think twice before booking your tickets for John Wick 2. You simply won’t regret watching this film
