Krishna Chari (Naga Shaurya), a native of a small village in the Godavari district, belongs to an orthodox Brahmin family. He moves to Hyderabad after landing up a job as a technical trainer. Love bells start ringing in his heart when he meets Vrinda (Shirley Setia), his manager. While Vrinda likes his company, she can’t accept his love. Later, when she realises that his love is true, she opens herself to him. Krishna has to lie to his parents in order to marry Vrinda. Differences erupt after their marriage and how they finally get together forms the rest of ‘Krishna Vrinda Vihari‘.
A sweet love story
Naga Shaurya is back in his favourite genre, the love story, and performs impeccably. He is a delight to watch on screen and pulls off the character of Krishna with ease. His comedy timing in this movie is great and the chemistry with Shirley is superb. They both looked fantastic on screen. The movie marks an impressive debut for Shirley Setia in Telugu. Vennela Kishore’s comedy is one of the major highlights in this movie. Satya and Rahul Ramakrishna as Naga Shaurya’s colleagues generate a lot of laughter. Brahmaji, who plays, Shaurya’s cousin is hilarious. Radhika is superb as Naga Shaurya’s mom. She has substantial screen time, especially in the second half, and she plays her part to perfection.
Director Anish Krishna chooses a tricky subject but keeps the audience entertained throughout with fantastic comedy. While the subject bears a striking resemblance to Nani’s latest movie, ‘Ante Sundaraniki’, the treatment, and the comedy make ‘Krishna Vrinda Vihari’ stand out. Mahati Swara Sagar’s music has some sweet melodies.
