While waiting for his assignment, UPSC top-scorer Siddharth Reddy, fondly called Siddhu (Nithiin), enjoys himself in Vizag and develops feelings for Swathi (Krithi Shetty), his neighbour Guntalakadi Gurnatham’s (Vennela Kishore) sister-in-law. Swathi visits Macherla, her hometown, without telling him. Siddhu arrives at Macherla looking for her only to discover that the district is controlled by the obnoxious Rajappa (Samuthirakani). Siddharth receives news that he has been appointed the collector of Guntur district as soon as he arrives in the city. The movie is about the conflict between Siddhu and Rajappa.
Nithiin shines as a mass hero
In the first half of ‘Macherla Niyojakavargam‘, Nithiin plays the lover boy. And in the second, he displays his action chops. It’s been a while since we’ve seen his mass hero image and we’re reminded of his ‘Dil’ and ‘Sye’ days. He carries himself well in the mass scenes and has a solid appearance. Krithi Shetty is fabulous in her role and her pairing with Nithiin seems fresh.
Debutante director M.S Raja Shekhar Reddy, who was an editor earlier, has showcased all the attributes of a successful commercial director. It doesn’t look like his first movie, however, he could have concentrated on the storytelling as the movie is quite routine. Yet it’s enjoyable thanks to the action episodes and Mahathi Swara Sagar’s thumping background score. Two songs, ‘Ra Raa Reddy’ and ‘Adirindey’ are already chartbusters.
