So gather your brave friends and catch up with our list of horror films that have released since 2015, which both critics and our users believe are the absolute best! 1. Tumbbad

Starring Sohum Shah and child actor Mohammad Samad in the lead roles, this horror film is a mythological story about a goddess who created the entire universe. The plot revolves around the consequences after some humans build a temple for her first-born.

2. The Conjuring 2

In the second installment of the Conjuring series, Ed and Lorraine Warren (played by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga) travel to North London to help a single mother who is raising four children alone in a house that is plagued by an evil supernatural spirit.

3. IT

Based on the book by Stephen King, this horror thriller is set in the summer of 1989, where a group of bullied kids band together to destroy a shape-shifting monster, which disguises itself as a clown and preys on the children of Derry, their small Maine town.

4. Train to Busan

This Korean movie is set in a South Korean train travelling from Seoul to Busan, where a zombie outbreak threatens the lives of its passengers. The survivors must band together to stay alive and protect themselves from the infected.

5. Bhaagamathie

This bilingual Telugu/Tamil movie revolves around IAS officer Chanchala Reddy (played by Anushka Shetty) who is imprisoned in a haunted house, while she is interrogated by law enforcers investigating a politician they suspect of corruption.

6. Pretham 2

Starring Jayasurya, this horror-comedy Malayalam movie revolves around five members of a Facebook group who meet up at an old heritage bungalow to shoot a short film. However, they do not realize that their story has an indirect connection with the death of a teenager.

7. 9

Directed by Jenuse Mohammed and starring Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead role, this sci-fi horror film is about a father’s resolve to do whatever it takes to protect his son, when forces within and beyond this world conspire to snatch him away.

8. The Invisible Man

This horror mystery stars Elizabeth Moss as Cecilia, whose abusive ex-husband takes his own life and leaves everything to her. However, she suspects that he’s still alive and tormenting her in a way that nobody can see him.

9. Us

Written and directed by Jordan Peele, this horror mystery film focusses on a family’s serene beach vacation that turns to chaos when their doppelgängers appear and begin to terrorize them. Lupita Nyong’o and Winston Duke star in the lead roles.

10. Don’t Breathe

This horror thriller film revolves around a trio of thieves who break into the house of a blind man hoping to walk away with a massive fortune he is expected to have on him. However, the man isn’t as helpless as he seems and they’re in for some real horrors once inside.
