Renuka Shahane reveals fascinating detail about her staircase fall scene from Hum Aapke Hai Koun

Hum Aapke Hai Koun is undoubtedly one of the most popular films from the 90s. Despite the film starring Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit in the lead, Renuka Shahane’s character falling off the staircase is one of the most popular scenes in the film. The scene is widely used as a meme on the internet today.

In the movie, Renuka Shahane breaks out into a dance on the song ‘Lo Chali Main‘. Towards the end of the song, she trips from the indoor staircase and falls to her death. Twenty-seven years later the scene has gained cult status thanks to the viral memes.

Recently, talking to a web portal, Renuka Shahane revealed that she loves watching these memes as she finds them as the ultimate form of flattery.

Talking further about behind the scene, Renuka revealed that the staircase was actually made of sponge and that not many know of that. She said that director Sooraj Barjatya was very particular about no one getting hurt during filming. She also said that it was difficult for her as she had to act like she was in pain whereas she was not.

On the world front, Renuka Shahane is currently looking forward to her Netflix film Tribhanga which she has directed. The film stars Kajol, Mithila Palkar, and Tanvi Azmi.
