Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation: Film Review – A wild ride!
Over the last few years, there are some things we’ve come to expect from a Tom Cruise film. While an award-worthy plot might not be one of them, you know that high-octane action and entertainment definitely make the cut!

Ethan Hunt is back in Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation. This time, he’s all set to take on the Syndicate, a rogue organization hell-bent on destroying Ethan and the IMF. It doesn’t help that the CIA’s Alan Hunley (Alec Baldwin) is out for their blood as well. Combine all this with the threat of impending global destruction, and you have all the elements needed for a Mission: Impossible film.

Like the previous films in the franchise, Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation has hearty sprinklings of action, drama and comedy. However, the latest instalment takes the action to a whole new level. Yes, there’s still wall-scaling and car-chasing, but there’s a lot more to look forward to. The best part? The action sequences pack a punch, but not at the expense of style. Each scene is as brutal as it is stunning, and that’s exactly what makes the film worth watching!

The cutthroat action sequences are punctuated by witty one-liners and running gags that keep any potentially dull moments at bay. It also helps that most of these one-liners are wonderfully delivered by Simon Pegg, who plays Benji Dunn.

After all these years of playing Ethan Hunt, it’s no surprise that Tom Cruise‘s portrayal is outstanding. However, the real star of the film is the rapport he shares with Jeremy Renner and Simon Pegg. Together, they perfectly execute the action, the humor and the entertainment that have made the franchise a superhit!

Alec Baldwin and Rebecca Ferguson also deliver noteworthy performances. While Baldwin is the picture of an old-school CIA officer, Rebecca is the perfect choice for the mysterious and charming rogue agent. Sean Harris‘ performance, however, leaves a lot to be desired.

All things considered, Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation is the perfect film to satiate your cravings for action. It is a sleek, stylish and lavish affair, though you might occasionally need to set all logical thinking aside.

Why should you watch this film?
Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation features high-octane action sequences, along with a generous sprinkling of humor. It is an out-and-out entertainer, right from the cold open to the end credits. If you want to enjoy a film that is just plain and simple fun, catch this one in theaters this weekend!
