Baa Baaa Black Sheep: Film Review – Delightful

Verdict: Some mindless fun for all ages.

Many TV actors have claimed that the medium gives them little creative satisfaction and working in films is their ultimate goal. While the smaller screen has a wider reach, entering Bollywood is every actor’s dream. Maniesh Paul has dabbled in various roles in TV and films and is back with an all-new comedy. Find out if manages to tickle your funny bone this time around.

What’s Baa Baaa Black Sheep About:

Charudutt Sharma (Anupam Kher) runs a dry fruit store and is often nagged by his wife for being a boring, good-for-nothing person. Little does she know that her husband is a contract killer and plans to get their only son Baba (Maniesh Paul) to join that business. Baba’s girlfriend Angelina’s (played by Manjari Phadnis) father – Brian (Annu Kapoor) – is no less of a scamster as he tricks people into buying fake paintings for astronomical amounts. He operates in the disguise of Santa Claus and at one point he ends up fooling the wrong guys. Now the trio has to fix the mess and helping them is ACP Shivraj Naik (Kay Kay Menon).

What Works:

Maniesh Paul makes even the silliest lines sound hilarious with his impeccable comic timing. Time and again he has proven that he is an entertainer and just needs to be a bit picky about the scripts he chooses. Baa Baaa Black Sheep is advertised as a comedy but there are a few thrills in the movie as well. Anupam Kher, Kay Kay Menon and Annu Kapoor share a good amount of screen space, along with Paul.

What Could’ve Been Better:

The music is a passable as most of the songs do not have a proper premise. The editing seems a bit off at times. We would have liked to see more of Manjari Phadnis too.

Why You Should Watch This Movie:

Go with an open mind with an intention to enjoy a funny flick and you will enjoy Baa Baaa Black Sheep. It is a fun movie with loads of comedy and total dhamaal.
