Review: Fukrey is not a hilarious film for starters. It operated on the tried and tested formula of college lukkhas and their shenanigans that could have really worked had it been supported by some situational comedy. The quirky Dilli plot offered a lot of promise but didn’t deliver. Audiences will probably wait till the end, even till the credit roll ends for something really funny to happen. But nothing did.
To its credit it did have some ludicrous scenes that were mildly funny but never hilarious. However, everything weird is not funny. Not unless it’s potential is fully explored. The premise of these Fukreys as badmaash but dil ke saaf could have taken the film to an entirely different level, given a pacy and genuinely funny screenplay. The funny antics and crazy situations lacked the punch.
