Lateef: Film Review – It’s a Nawazuddin show!

What happens when an innocent man gets caught in a web of crime, thrill and lies?

This is the fundamental question posed by Lateef, Nawazuddin Siddiqui‘s latest venture. The film follows our protagonist of the same name, as he pursues his dreams of becoming a doctor. However, the road to accomplishing this is filled with more obstacles than he could anticipate. Lateef shows us how our leading man gets entangled in the drug world, and how it changes the course of his life forever.

It’s no surprise that the biggest highlight of the film is Nawazuddin Siddiqui‘s performance. As always, he delivers an earnest performance that makes even the most loathsome character bearable. He commands the screen in a way that proves his mettle as a leading man.
Lateef also takes a very real story and brings it forward in a unique way. Though it still leaves a lot to be desired, the biopic does have its merits. It has its fair share of thrilling moments that will make it hard to tear your eyes away from the screen. Unfortunately, these are few and far between.
Murli Sharma, Kader Khan and Mukesh Tiwari deliver earnest performances as well. However, they are bogged down by the low production value of the film.

Why should you watch this film?
Fans of crime dramas and thrillers will enjoy Lateef, that has an abundance of both. If you are a fan of the genres and want to see Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s performance, watch it this weekend.
