Mastizaade: Film Review – No Masti!
Verdict: A sex comedy with very few laughs.

Sex comedies seem to be the flavor of the month. Just last week we were treated to the film Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3, and this week it’s time for Mastizaade

The film starts off with two friends, Sunny Kele (Tusshar Kapoor) and Aditya Chothia (Vir Das), who are given tips on how to be Mastizaade by the wise Riteish Deshmukh. After that, they become chick magnets and girls can’t seem to keep their hands off them. The guys continue their flings till they meet the sisters, Lily Lele, and Laila Lele, both played by Sunny Leone. Sunny and Aditya are so smitten by the twins that their “chick-rays” fail to work in front of them. The rest of the film is about how the guys woo the girls while tackling a strict father (Asrani), a gay brother (Suresh Menon) and a handicapped, to-be-husband (Shaad Randhawa).

After this film, Milap Zaveri will definitely be crowned the king of adult comedies. He has worked on such movies before and doesn’t disappoint with his latest film. Mastizaade is filled with sexual innuendos and even the most simple things are made to sound dirty. This is why you have names like Titli Boobna, U. R. Ashit Lele, Son Das and many more.

Coming to the performances (pun unintended), Tusshar Kapoor is not new to the genre and he can easily sleepwalk through these roles. The actor puts in his best and his efforts come across on screen. Vir Das is a popular stand-up comedian, but he fails to make a mark in the film. It’s quite evident that the actor wasn’t comfortable with the lines and he hams big time. Sunny Leone gets to play a double role with contrasting personalities. While one of her characters is a nymphomaniac, the other is a shy girl (though her dressing sense suggests otherwise). The actress acts competently, but the camera focuses more on her svelte figure. Riteish Deshmukh makes a decent cameo appearance, too. The songs are catchy and the makers have ensured that the lyrics are as crude as possible.

Why You Should Watch This Movie:

Mastizaade is not a film for everyone. The plot lacks logic and the jokes will make you cringe. Having said that, if you love slapstick humor and Sunny Leone, this film will surely entertain you.
