Anugraheethan Antony has created a buzz among the audience ever since the track from the film ‘Mulle Mulle’ started floating. The film that released on 1st of April 2021 is as soothing as the song. This feel-good fantasy entertainer stars Sunny Wayne in the lead along with Gouri G Kishan, Siddique, Indrans, Jaffar Idukki, Muthumani, Manikandan Achari, Melvin Babu, Muthumani, Baiju Santhosh and Suraj Venjaramoodu in supporting roles.
The film revolves around Antony (Sunny Wayne), a happy-go-lucky guy with no particular job or passion. Antony is happy with his set of friends and has been loitering around doing pretty much nothing, disappointing his father Varghese Mash (Siddique) a retired school teacher. One day, he meets Sanjana Madhavan (Gouri G Kishan), and sooner Antony is in love with her. However, an unfortunate incident occurs changing Antony’s life and he decides to fulfill some wishes in order to make everyone around him happy.
A Never-Experienced-Before Plot
The plot of Anugraheethan Antony is interesting and is different from what we have experienced over the years. Similar movies have hit the theatres earlier, but this one is one-of-its-kind. We don’t want to spill the spoilers by explaining further, you must watch the film to know what we are hinting at.
Visually and audibly pleasing
Anugraheethan Antony is beautiful to watch. Be it the visuals, performances or the technical side – the film is quite enjoyable. When it comes to performances, all the artists have done a fantabulous job. They have made sure we laughed at their jokes, smiled at the romance, and cried with them in the emotional sequences. Suraj Venjaramoodu, though his role is very limited has made us hooked to the screen with his performance. Siddique as usual is brilliant as a dejected father. Jaffar Idukki and Manikandan Achari had made the emotional scenes quite touching. Anugraheethan Antony would be the best performance in Sunny’s career so far. Another highlight of the film is its music. All the songs, especially Mulle Mulle and the background score by Arun Muraleedharan are excellent and complements the film well.
Rony performs beautifully
One of the best things in the film is the dog, Rony. Every scene he appears in, he ‘performs’ beautifully. Be at barking at an empty spot or moaning at the sky, he just surprises you in each scene. Inarguably, the best performance from a dog in the history of Malayalam cinema!
WATCH OR NOT
Anugraheethan Antony is a feel-good film with some emotional scenes that keep you gripped. It has an interesting storyline and performances that are equally good. Watch it and have fun!
