Achari America Yatra: Film Review – A Hilarious Journey

Verdict: Vishnu and Brahmanandam re-create their magic!

Achari America Yatra brings back the combination of Vishnu Manchu and G. Nageswara Reddy for the third time after Dhenikaina Ready and Eedo Rakam Aado Rakam. Pragya Jaiswal is paired with Manchu Vishnu for the first time in this light-hearted comedy, which also features Brahmanandam, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Posani Krishna Murali, Prabhas Sreenu, Praveen, Satya Krishna, Vidhyullekha Raman, Pradeep Rawat, Raja Ravindra, Thakur Anoop Singh, Venu, Supreet, Surekha Vani, Master Bharat and Geeta Singh. Produced by Kirthi Chowdary and Kittu, the music and background score have been rendered by S. Thaman while cinematography has been handled by R. Siddharth. The script has been penned by Darling Swamy and the editing has been done by M. R. Varma. Shot extensively in America, let’s see what is in store for the audience watching Achari America Yatra.

What’s Achari America Yatra About:

Krishnamachari (Vishnu Manchu) and Appalachari (Brahmanandam) are brahmin priests who perform religious rituals for a living. Renuka (Pragya Jaiswal) is the granddaughter of Chakrapani (Kota Srinivasa Rao) and returns from America to participate in a ritual which is performed by Appalachari and Krishnamachari. Krishnamachari helps Renuka when she is subjected to a murder attempt by unknown assailants. Eventually they fall in love with each other. Chakrapani dies due to suffocation at the end of the ritual. Chakrapani’s son-in-law wants to marry off his son, Vikram (Thakur Vikram Singh) to Renuka to lay hands on her inheritance. After Renuka flies back to the US, Krishnamachari and his gang launch a search for her. How Krishna saves Renuka from Vikram's clutches forms the rest of story.

What Works:

Manchu Vishnu is a treat to watch in his priest avatar along with Brahmanandam. Together, they have recreated the magic we saw in their previous venture Dhee. Pragya Jaiswal is ultra-glamorous and has done complete justice to her role. Prabhas Sreenu, Vidhyullekha Raman, Praveen, Prudhvi, Master Bharat, and Satya Krishna have successfully brought tears to the viewers' eyes with their comic timing. Pradeep Rawat, Thakur Anoop Singh, and Raja Ravindra played the antagonist’s role well. Achari America Yatra mainly works because of the humor quotient and good commercial elements throughout the movie. The music, the background score, and the cinematography gel well with the flow of the movie. The scenes in the US are captured well and the editing is crisp. The production values are grand.

What Could Have Been Better:

The movie is predictable at places. Having said that, there are no boring elements anywhere in the movie.

Why You Should Watch:

Achari America Yatra is a fun movie that can easily be watched with friends and families.
