Fashion Designer s/o Ladies Tailor: Film Review – Love Quadrangle

Verdict: Fashion Designer is no match to Ladies Tailor.

Fashion Designer s/o Ladies Tailor is a sequel to yesteryear's cult classic blockbuster hit Ladies Tailor. Directed by Vamsi, this has Sumanth Ashwin playing the lead role with three heroines – Anisha Ambrose, Manali Rathod and Manasa Himavarsha. It is really a difficult task to make a sequel of a cult classic as it will be subjected to comparisons. At the same time, it enjoys the default publicity as well. Let’s see if Vamsi is able to recreate the magic he did with Ladies Tailor.

Gopalam (Sumanth Ashwin) is a ladies tailor in a village in the Godavari district. He dreams of becoming a fashion designer and plans to set up his own business at a nearby town or city. He is taken to an astrologer by his assistant Pandu. The palmist looks at Gopalam’s hand and tells him that he is gifted with “manmadha rekha” which will make it easy for him to attract girls. He plans to get attached to a rich girl from the village and in the process will end up wooing three girls Gedhula Rani (Manasa Himavarsha), Ammulu (Manali Rathod) and Maharani (Anisha Ambrose). Who will Gopalam marry? Will he achieve his dreams of becoming a fashion designer? Will he realize the mistakes he has committed? Are there any twists in the tale? To know all these, catch this flick at a theatre near you.

Fashion Designer so Ladies Tailor - BookMyShow

Sumanth Ashwin is lovable as the playboy but his diction need to be corrected. The voice seems like a complete mismatch. Of all the three heroine characters, Anisha Ambrose leads the package and is beautiful as a girl returned from America. Manasa and Manali did justice to their characters. Gavvaraju’s character is a typical one that we see in most of Vamsi’s movies. Krishnudu plays Shyamala Rao which is a short but important character. Pandu as Gopalam’s assistant was a perfect fit to his role. Krishna Bhagawan played the role of Paparao, who is Gopalam’s uncle. He manages to bring Vamsi-style comedy. The rest of the characters was good in their own capacity.

Fashion Designer s/o Ladies Tailor is a typical Vamsi movie and he was able to partially succeed in getting all the emotions right. Mani Sharma’s music is laudable and all the songs are catchy and melodious. The production values by Madhura Entertainment are great. Location wise, Godavari is captured in the most beautiful way.

Why You Should Watch This Movie:

If you are a fan of Vamsi's movies, this one is for you. However, this film has a good dosage of adult content that the families might not connect with.
