Kirrak Party: Film Review – Fun, Laughter, and Beautiful Emotions

Verdict: Packs a punch!

Right from Swamy Ra Ra, Nikhil Siddhartha has been delivering hits back to back and is currently in the golden phase of his career. Now he is back with the remake of a Kannada super hit movie Kirik Party, which is titled as Kirrak Party in Telugu. Simran Pareenja and Samyuktha Hegde have been cast opposite Nikhil and mark their debut in Telugu movie industry. Directed by Sharan Koppisetty, the screenplay has been done by Sudheer Varma, who has delivered two hits for Nikhil with Swamy Ra Ra and Keshava. The dialogues have been written by Chandoo Mondeti, the director of another one of Nikhil’s super hit movies, Karthikeya. Produced by Ramabrahmam Sunkara under the banner AK Entertainments, the music is composed by B. Ajaneesh Loknath while cinematography has been handled by Advaitha Gurumurthy. Let’s see if Kirrak Party could impress the Telugu audience just like how the original Kirik Party impressed the Kannada audience.

What’s Kirrak Party About:

Krishna (Nikhil) is a first-year mechanical engineering graduate who falls in love with Meera (Simran Pareenja), a final year student of the same college. Just when everything seems to be going well between them, Meera accidentally dies after getting drunk in the girl’s hostel. Then begins the transformation of Krishna from a soft-hearted, loving boy to a tough guy. While in his final year of engineering, he meets Satya (Samyuktha Hegde), a first-year engineering student of the same college and the daughter of the principal. Satya is drawn towards Krishna instantly and tries to change him. Will Satya succeed in her mission? Will Krishna come back to normalcy? To know all these and rewind your past college life, catch Kirrak Party at your favorite theatre.

Kirrak Party review - BookMyShow

What Works:

Kirrak Party is an amalgamation of fun, laughter, love and beautiful emotions. The director has beautifully captured the life of engineering graduates from their first year to the final year. Nikhil was excellent in both shades of the character. He was charming in the first half as a lover boy and was rugged in the second half as a senior. The transformation of his character was beautifully narrated. Debutantes Simran and Samyuktha have enacted their roles well. Simran is beautiful and is seen mostly in the first half while Samyuktha enters in the second half and does justice to her role. Actors cast as Krishna's friends were apt in their roles and Brahmaji as car mechanic was good. The sequence where Meera and Krishna help a sex worker during her delivery and the one where Krishna helps the sex worker's daughter with her education is well conceived. The music, background score, and cinematography were brilliant.

What Could Have Been Better:

The film seems to be a little predictable but given the genre of the movie, it can easily be ignored.

Why You Should Watch This Movie:

Watch Kirrak Party to reminisce your college days. Nikhil's performance coupled with his chemistry with the two new actresses adds to the entertainment factor of the movie. The music and background score only adds value to the film. It is a complete treat for youth and students.
