Oka Manasu: Film Review – A Beautiful Love Story!

Verdict: A classical tale of two pure souls!

It has been three years since G.V.Rama Raju came up with his second directional venture Oka Manasu, after the critically acclaimed Mallela Theeramlo Sirimalle Puvvu. More importantly, it marks the debut of Niharika Konidela from Mega Camp as the lead actress. Naga Shourya, who has been doing some wonderful love stories in the recent past, has teamed up with them as the lead hero. Let’s see what the team has come up with.

Surya (Naga Shourya) is an upcoming politician and Sandhya (Niharika Konidela) is a doctor by profession. It is love at first sight for the both of them. Movie starts with Surya returning from jail on bail after three years and Sandhya waiting to meet him. We are then taken to a flashback mode, establishing the love story between these two characters, in the process. Why did Surya go to jail? Do Sandhya and Surya unite? Do their families accept their relationship? To know all these, watch Oka Manasu at a theatre near you.
Naga Shourya has put his heart and soul for the character of Surya. He is absolutely flawless. Niharika Konidela is beautiful as Sandhya and looks apt in the role of a doctor. For a debut actor, she has put her best and has scored all the marks and sympathy towards the climax. Surya’s and Sandhya’s characters will haunt you for a couple of days after watching the movie. Rao Ramesh as Surya’s father is an absolute delight to watch. Srinivas Avasarla as Sathya has donned his role to perfection and so has the character of Surya’s friend. Krishna Bhagawan and Venella Kishore have provided the required comic relief.
There are no words to describe the exceptional ability of G.V.Rama Raju in churning out a classical tale of two pure souls and their eternal, poetic love story. His story screenplay and direction has been executed to perfection. Each and every dialogue in the movie has meaning and depth. Hats off to this man! We expect more beautiful movies from you, sir, take a bow. Music and background score by Sunil Kashyap is extraordinary. All the songs gel well with the situation and the background score is haunting. Cinematography by Ram Reddy is fabulous. Each and every frame in the movie looks poetic. Editing by Dharmendra Kakarala is close to perfection.

Why You Should Watch This Movie:
Oka Manasu is a once-in-a-lifetime movie for those who seek love stories being conveyed in poetic and classic style and we rarely see this in Telugu movies. It is pure, clean content-driven film that is very different from the regular format. Feel the beauty of love for 146 minutes of Oka Manasu at a theatre near you.
