PSV Garuda Vega: Film Review – Spectacular Visual Feast

Verdict: A novel attempt, unlike anything in Tollywood.

PSV Garuda Vega starring Dr. Rajasekhar and Pooja Kumar in lead roles has been written and directed by Praveen Sattaru and produced by M.Koteswara Raju. The music and the background score is rendered by Sricharan Pakala and Bheems Cecireleo while the cinematography has been handled by Anji, Suresh Ragutu, Shyam Prasad, Gika Chelidze and Bakur Chikobava. This is probably the first time in the Indian film industry that five cameramen were involved in the cinematography of a single movie. The theatrical trailer of PSV Garuda Vega was very impressive and caught the attention of everyone. Let’s see what Praveen Sattaru mission is all about.

What’s It About:

Sekhar (Dr. Rajasekhar) is an assistant commissioner for National Investigative Agency who is very sincere at work and has handled several covert operations. Due to his hectic work, Shekar is often criticized by his wife Swathi (Pooja Kumar). Niranjan (Adith Arun) who is a hacker and holds a very sensitive information that the Government wants but evades them. In the meanwhile, Sekhar handles the task of a murdered woman which leads him to Niranjan. What was that sensitive information? Why is Niranjan on a run? How does Sekhar come to know about the scam? To know all these, book a ticket for Garuda Vega at a theatre near you and enjoy the novel attempt made by the makers.

What Works:

Rich production values, scintillating background score, extraordinary camera work, decent music, fast and engaging screenplay and Rajasekhar’s performance work well for PSV Garuda Vega. Praveen Sattaru mission is one of its kind that will surely be lapped by Telugu audience who are seeking novel attempts off late. Watching Garda Vega reminds us of the famous Bourne series and the director excelled in executing it “picture perfect” on screen. Rajasekhar has undoubtedly replicated the magic he showed several decades ago through his movies like Aahuti, Ankusham, Aagraham and Magadu. PSV Garuda Vega will be another feather in his cap.

What Could Have Been Better:

Had the writing been better, PSV Garuda Vega would have got a unanimous hit talk. Nevertheless, though some viewers may find it difficult to follow the racy screenplay, Garuda Vega will still be a movie that will be remembered for its daring attempt where none of the Telugu makers ever tried before in this genre.

Why You Should Watch:

PSV Garuda Vega is a must-watch movie for the audience who seek intelligent and novel thrillers. It is definitely not the routine run-of-the-mill entertainer. Kudos to the team of Garuda Vega who spent huge money on the belief they had in their script and the way they have brought it out on the screen.

20 Years of Lagaan: 5 Unknown facts about the film

1. Aamir Khan had never worn a dhoti before. He learnt how to tie it in just one day. When I had asked him how audiences would react to their hero in a dhoti his sensible reply was, “Whether I wear a dhoti in Lagaan or whether it is a period film all that is irrelevant. Audiences will come if they like the story.” And they did! Aamir was right.

BREAKING: Radhe – Your Most Wanted Bhai releases in 2 cinemas in Maharashtra; 84 tickets sold on the first day; film collects Rs. 6,017.86 in a day

One of the most awaited films of the year, Radhe – Your Most Wanted Bhai, released on Eid 2021, that is, on May 13, 2021. While it got a theatrical release in most of the overseas territories, moviegoers in India couldn’t get a chance to watch it on the big screen. This is because of the second wave of the Coronavirus pandemic, which prompted governments of almost all states to shut cinema halls. Eventually, Radhe – Your Most Wanted Bhai released only in the state of Tripura, in 3 cinemas – 2 in Agartala and 1 in Dharmanagar. From the 5th day, it ran only in the theatre at Dharmanagar as Agartala went into lockdown. The collections were meagre and the film was out of the theatre in a week. But on the positive side, it was heartening to see that despite being a peak Covid period, a few moviegoers did venture out to see the film on the big screen.
