Snehamera Jeevitham: Film Review – Friends For Life!

Snehamera Jeevitham: Film Review – Friends For Life!

By BMS Editor17 November, 2017 2 min read

Verdict: Friendship, Love, and Betrayal.

Snehamera Jeevitham starring Siva Balaji, Rajiv Kanakala and Sushuma in lead roles is written and directed by Mahesh Upputuri and produced by Siva Balaji Manoharan under the banner Gagan Magical Frames. Mahesh Upputuri has earlier directed Paddanandi Premalo Mari, with Varun Sandesh. The music and background score has been rendered by Sunil Kasyap while cinematography has been handled by Bharani K Dharan. Though the shoot of Snehamera Jeevitham completed a while ago, it is finally releasing in theatres today amidst more than five other releases. Thanks to the Bigg Boss Telugu show, Siva Balaji has become a known face in every household after emerging as a winner of the first season of the show. Let’s see if his luck extends to the movie as well.

 Snehameera Jeevitham - BookMyShow

WHAT’S SNEHAMERA JEEVITHAM ABOUT:

Mohan (Siva Balaji) is an orphan and is taken care of his childhood friend Chalapathi (Rajeev Kanakala). Chalapathi is well laid off and aspires to be an MLA. Mohan and Chalapathi are thick friends and will do anything for each other. Mohan is in love with Indira (Sushuma Yarlagadda) but hesitates to propose to her and talk about it to Chalapathi. Chalapathi encourages Mohan to propose to Indira. However, misunderstanding erupts between Mohan and Chalapathi when Mohan sees Chalapathi hugging Indira. What actually happens between Chalapathi and Indira and how Mohan and Chalapathi sort their differences forms the rest of the story.

WHAT WORKS:

Snehamera Jeevitham is more like watching a movie of the early 80s. As the movie is set in the early 80s, the makers have taken extreme care in getting the minutest details right. The cinematography and music have set the atmosphere right. The direction is smooth with no confusing elements. The scene just before the interval is novel. The editing is neat and crisp with a runtime of 2 hours. The production values are good. Siva Balaji and Rajeev Kanakala have given a riveting performance and they look convincing as friends. Debutante Sushuma Yarlagadda was okay in a deglamorized role and has scope to perform well. Rest of the cast was apt in the characters they enacted.

WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER:

When a movie is made without stars, it needs some attractive and novel elements to get people to theatres. This is where Snehamera Jeevitham falters. The item songs could’ve been avoided as they tend to distract from the main narrative. Having said that, Snehamera Jeevitham is a well made routine commercial entertainer with good dialogues and decent storyline added with flawless narration, if you ignore the placement of unnecessary songs.

WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH THIS MOVIE:

You may watch Snehamera Jeevitham to go back to the 80’s era and relive those memories. It also has a decent storyline backed up with wonderful cinematography.
