Within a wide span of two decades in the industry, Shefali Shah has brought to life memorable characters on-screen. Her recent popular one being, Vartika Chaturvedi in Delhi Crime which has also bagged a nomination and won the award in the Best Drama category at this year’s International Emmy Awards 2020. But, the actress reveals she was being typecast in the industry in her 20s and since then she would only get the roles of playing a mother on screen.
In 2005, Shefali Shah played the role of Amitabh Bachchan’s wife in Waqt: The Race Against Time. She played Akshay Kumar’s mother when she was just around 28-30 years old at the time. Speaking about it to a tabloid, the actress said that she was typecast in a mother’s role very early in life. She hadn’t even reached a certain age. She was 20 when she played the role of the mother of a 15-year-old. When she was 20 years old, the actress played a mom of 45. She said that when she was around 28-30, she played mother to Akshay Kumar. The actress further cited that according to screen time, she is probably 133 years or something.
On the work front, Shefali Shah recently wrapped up shooting her second short film Happy Birthday Mummyji in Mumbai.
