Birthday boy Silambarasan popularly known as Simbu recommenced work in the stalled Venkat Prabhu film titled Maanaadu. The film is produced by Suresh Kamatchi who along with Simbu took to Twitter to announce the positive news that the filming will get underway in Pondicherry. Maanaadu dropped a fiery teaser on the actor’s birthday. Have you watched it yet?

What can we expect from Maanaadu?

According to sources, Maanaadu is touted to be a political satire combined with some thrilling elements. Simbu plays a Muslim character by the name of Abdul Khaaliq. As to the nature of his role and the nuances of the character he plays, we are still awaiting information and details on those aspects. Kalyani Priyadarshan who was last seen and appreciated in Putham Pudhu Kaalai has been roped in to play the female lead opposite Simbu. Maanaadu has been a long time in the making with the project having been shelved in the middle and restated again later. The film also stars prominent actors like Bharathiraja, SJ Suryah, Karunakaran, Premgi Amaren and Daniel Anne Pope. Yuvan Shankar Raja will compose the music while the rest of the cast and crew will be announced soon.
