The mention of the dubbing artiste’s name along with the actress name in the title cards gives us a hint of how unique this movie is going to be. Directed by Ravikanth Perepu of the Kshanam fame, the movie features Sidhu Jonnalagadda, Shraddha Srinath, Shalini Vadnikatti, Seerat Kapoor, Jhansi, Sampath Raj, and Sricharan Pakala, who also happens to be the music director. The cinematography has been handled by Shaneil Deo and Sai Prakash Ummadisingu. In fact, a major chunk of the technical crew was retained from Ravikanth’s debut movie, Kshanam.

In one line, the movie is about Krishna (Sidhu Jonnalagadda) and his true love with two women in his life. One may or may not agree with the value system in relationships, but Ravikanth largely succeeds in portraying the ideas genuinely. Within minutes, you will get engaged with the happenings and that is the beauty with this script.

The love is pure and the writing is honest

Though the movie falls under the rom-com genre, the taut screenplay manages you to keep hooked till the end, like a thriller movie. Sidhu has portrayed genuine emotions and one cannot stop comparing him to the likes of Ranbir Kapoor. The lead girls’ characterizations are nuanced and nicely layered. While we have seen Shraddha and Seerat in their earlier movies, Shalini is a surprise and was a delight to watch. The script and the characters are so well-etched that everyone will get connected to them at some point in time.

Nothing short of a masterpiece

Krishna and his Leela is nothing short of a masterpiece and will easily find a list in the library of top made movies of this decade. While Ravikanth proved his talent with the debut flick, Kshanam, his second outing Krishna and his Leela will showcase the abundant talent this guy possesses.

The film excels in technical aspects

The music is nice, and the background score is soulful. Sricharan Pakala is yet another bundle of talent. The camera work is cliched and every frame looks like a picture. One can’t help but feel proud of this team of Krishna and his Leela for giving us a movie that will be remembered for generations to come.

WATCH OR NOT

This is undoubtedly yet another gem of a movie from the new-gen Telugu cinema which feels like a breath of fresh air that is classy and refreshing. The writing is solid, and you will feel for every character. Sidhu, Shraddha, Shalini, and Seerat were outstanding in their respective roles while Sricharan’s music and background score are splendid. Ravikanth Perepu and his team deserve a round of applause and we wish they complete a solid hattrick, next time in theatres!
