With the Government of Telangana giving permissions to re-open the theatres, slowly and steadily our producers are announcing the release dates of their movies. One such movie that is ready with the final copy is Sumanth’s Kapatadhaari.
A remake of Kannada superhit movie Kavaludaari, directed by Hemanth M Rao, this Telugu version is directed by Pradeep Krishnamoorthy. Kapatadhaari has completed the censor formalities and was given a clean U/A certificate.
With all the formalities complete, the makers have also announced the release date as Dec 25th 2020 in theatres. The movie also features Nandhita Swetha, Nassar, Jayaprakash, Vennela Kishore, Suman Ranganathan and Sathish Kumar in prominent roles.
Bankrolled by G Dhananjayan and Lalitha Dhananjayan, the music and background score is composed by Simon K King and cinematography is handled by Rasamathi. Editing of the movie is handled by Praveen KL. The movie was also simultaneously shot in Tamil and has Sibi Satyaraj playing the lead role. The movie is titled as Kabadadaari in Tamil.
The last we saw Sumanth in the lead role was Idam Jagath, released in 2018. He was also seen in a cameo in NTR’s biopic, where we portrayed the role of his grandfather Akkineni Nageswara Rao. Touted to be a movie made in the thriller genre, we will see Sumanth in the role of a cop.
Nanditha Swetha is the lead heroine for both the Tamil and Telugu versions. Suman Ranganathan, who played the role of an actress in Kannada version is retained in both Telugu and Tamil. Given the universal theme, the movie is also being planned to be made in Malayalam and Hindi versions.
