Released on 13th April 2007, Dhee went on to become a blockbuster hit at the box office and has been a game-changer to everyone involved. The situational comedy between Manchu Vishnu and Brahmi brought in a whole new dimension to the movie and won the hearts of Telugu movie lovers. Srihari, Sunil and Genelia characters are well-etched and this movie paved the way to a new slate of movies during that time.

With this movie, Srinu Vytla emerged as the most wannabe director of those times and subsequently went on to direct many blockbusters such as Ready, Dhookudu and Baadshah. He has slowed down a bit since Aagadu and is now trying to bounce back with the sequel of this comedy classic Dhee.
The new sequel is titled D & D – Double Dose and the makers are promising to give double the entertainment than what was achieved with the original. On the occasion of Manchu Vishnu’s birthday, the makers have made this crazy announcement.

Manchu Vishnu seems to be working hard to get a beastly look for this sequel. He took to his Instagram and posted a pic with his cute kid and this is what he had to say – “My friends call me a Beast, which I am. But with this little one, I am a Gentleman Beast. Working it out for D&D. Thank you @therock for inspiring me to take this pic.”
Bankrolled by Manchu Vishnu himself under 24 Frames Factory banner, the rest of the crew includes Gopi Mohan, Kishore Gopu, Mahati Swara Sagar, Mohana Krishna, Peter Hein, MR Varma and Chinna.
While the technical crew is almost finalized, the rest of the casting is yet to be announced. We will have to wait and see if the sequel will have the characters played by Brahmanandam, Sunil and Sri Hari or will this be a new story and new characters altogether.
