Tollywood Celebs React To Theatres Opening in Telangana

As we are aware that the central government has already granted permissions to the state governments to allow reopening of theatres a couple of weeks back. However, except for a few states, the theatres remained closed elsewhere. In a huge relief to the theatre owners of the Telugu states, the Telangana government has allowed them to reopen theatres with all the Covid 19 protocols in place.

While the AP government has already granted permissions to reopen the theatres, they were waiting for the Telangana government to follow suit as it will not be feasible for them to release movies in only one state. This move from the Telangana government comes as a breather to the producers and exhibitors of Telugu cinema.

As we know that Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna and several other prominent personalities from the industry met the CM recently. They expressed their gratitude and this is what they had to say.

Chiranjeevi tweeted – Heartfelt Thanks to Hon’ble CM Shri. #KCR garu for the relief measures to the film industry. Trust that these compassionate measures surely will go a long way in reviving the industry badly hit by the pandemic and put it back on the path to progress. #TelanganaCMO

Nagarjuna tweeted – Utmost gratitude and thanks To the honourable CM of Telangana shri #KCR Garu for the much needed relief measures given to the Telugu film industry during these dark and uncertain times of Covid. #telanganaCmo

Apart from the reopening of theatres, the Chief Minister of Telangana has also granted several sops for the welfare of Telugu cinema. As per the reliable sources, it is learnt that the government has agreed to give a free hand to theatre owners and producers to hike tickets as per their convenience without burdening the movie lovers.

Also, health insurance will be provided to all the workers from the Telugu movie industry. Also, the government has agreed to reimburse the state GST for all the low budget movies made within 10 Cr.

With so many sops granted to the Telugu movie industry, we hope to see a revival as this was the worst affected industry due to the pandemic. Already 5 theatres in the state have closed permanently due to the lockdown effect.

Stay tuned for many more interesting updates and happenings across Tollywood.
