The trailer of 1962: The War in the Hills, Disney+ Hotstar’s upcoming war saga, shows India’s prime minister Nehru (Arif Zakaria) faced with a grave dilemma. Chinese troops have crossed the border and infiltrated Indian territory. India cannot afford a war, but can’t avoid one either.
Directed by Mahesh Manjrekar, the series tells the story of how a small platoon of Indian soldiers, led by major Suraj Singh (Abhay Deol), defied all odds and withstood the might of the Chinese army. The Chinese are determined to capture Kashmir and have engaged 3,000 men towards this goal. India, meanwhile, must contend with just 125 men to defend their land. Apart from Deol, the trailer gives a glimpse of Sumeet Vyas and Akash Thosar, both of whom play soldiers, and of Mahie Gill who plays Deol’s wife.
1962: The War in the Hills will stream from Friday, February 26 on Disney+ Hotstar.
