If you love Gillian Anderson’s quirky and endearing Dr. Jean Milburn in ‘Sex Education’ and you’re unfamiliar with her terrific body of work, then you need to dive right in. Anderson, who won an Emmy on Sunday, September 19 for her portrayal of Margaret Thatcher in ‘The Crown’, has left her mark on many TV shows in the past. ‘The Crown’

Gillian Anderson delivered an exceptional performance in season four of this critically acclaimed Regency-era drama. She essayed the role of the former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher (pictured above), successfully imitating everything from Thatcher’s walk to her tone of voice.

‘The X-Files’

Her performance won her several awards, including a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress.

In this show, Anderson essays the role of Dr. Bedelia Du Maurier, Hannibal Lecter’s (Mads Mikkelsen) personal psychiatrist and colleague, who soon becomes fascinated by him. Creator Bryan Fuller was even remarked that “Bedelia is the smartest character on the show”.
