Move over Real Housewives of Atlanta, Beverly Hills, Miami and other American cities. There’s a new glam squad in town and they’re represented by Seema Khan, Maheep Kapoor, Bhavana Pandey and Neelam Kothari Soni. Glitzy, sassy, stupendously wealthy and seemingly living in their own bubble, they offer a glimpse into their privileged life in the new Netflix show Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives.
If their names don’t really ring a bell, that’s okay. These ladies are mostly famous by association – Seema Khan is married to Salman Khan’s youngest brother Sohail; Maheep Kapoor is married to Anil Kapoor’s younger brother Sanjay; Bhavana Pandey is best known for being Ananya Panday’s mother and Neelam Kothari Soni used to be a popular actor in the 1990s. The BFFs proclaim that people have a misconception about them leading glamorous lives which isn’t necessarily true as their lives can be quite mundane. Then, the trailer goes on to show us exactly how mundane they can get. Shopping sprees in Rolls Royce, trying out designer clothes in fancy ateliers, DMing Kim Kardashian, eating at the toniest restaurants in town, vacations abroad and casually chilling with Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan.
The show is perfectly poised to be India’s version of Keeping Up With The Kardashians and we’re here for it. Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives releases on Netflix on Friday, November 27.
