The Mandalorian creator Jon Favreau confirmed The Book of Boba Fett, another Mandalorian spinoff, will to go into production before The Mandalorian season three. The official Mandalorian Twitter account shared the news, revealing Favreau will produce alongside Dave Filoni and Robert Rodriguez. Temuera Morrison will star as the titular character. Favreau also noted that The Book of Boba Fett is that “next chapter” and The Mandalorian season three will follow.

The emotional Mandalorian season two finale ended with a final surprise with a post-credits scene. Boba Fett and Fennec Shand paid a visit to Jabba the Hutt’s former palace on Tatooine, taking over the alien gangsters position. This announcement confirms that this spinoff will follow up on this post credits set-up with the iconic bounty hunter Boba Fett’s first small screen outing.
