Marvel’s Moon Knight series for Disney+ Hotstar starring Oscar Isaac (pictured above) begins filming this March in Budapest. As Disney+ and Marvel Studios begin phase four with the release of WandaVision, Moon Knight, seen by fans and critics as Marvel’s response to Batman, is one of the heroes who will help Marvel Studios expand its repertoire. The character is a rather unique one on the Marvel roster. Marc Spector aka Moon Knight is a former boxer, Marine, and mercenary who uses his considerable wealth to fight crime. Moon Knight also suffers from multiple personality disorder, creating numerous alter egos, including cabbie Jake Lockley and millionaire playboy Steven Grant. He uses these personalities in order to fight criminals. He is also a conduit for the Egyptian moon god Khonshu.
It’s a series comic fans have eagerly awaited for many years. Moon Knight will have Egyptian filmmaker Mohamed Diab serving as showrunner. Indie directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead will be helming multiple episodes of the series.
