It’s Only Feb But We Have The Word Of The Year: It’s Pawri

After breaking the internet with the ultimate mystery of Rasode Mein Kaun Tha, music composer Yashraj Mukhate (pictured above) is back with another viral ditty courtesy of Pakistani influencer and content creator, Dananeer Mobeen. Mobeen shared a video of herself on vacation with friends at a hill station with, “Yeh hamari car hai. Aur yeh hum hai. Aur yeh hamari pawri hori hai (sic).”

Mukhate jumped aboard the pawri bandwagon saying, “Aajse me party nahi karunga sirf pawri karunga. Kyuki party karneme wo mazaa nahi jo pawri karneme hai.” He added a few beats, some funny additions with his chair and ‘chammach’, and voila! Pawri Hori Hai was born. The video, posted on his YouTube page and instagram, currently has over 12.8 million views.

Naturally, Twitter took up the pawri chant and added their two cents to it. Netflix even added a Golmaal esque twist, the Rohit Shetty one, to it.

Of course, many people put their own spins on the song. Our favourite one, hands down, is the video featuring Baba Ramdev, Shilpa Shetty and Ranveer Singh.
