‘Bawri Chhori’ Takes Us On A Thrilling Journey Of Self Discovery

You can expect a mystery and some suspense when you see a movie that starts by showing you a video about how to get rid of a dead body. We meet Radhika Panday (Aahana Kumra) who has come to London to find her husband. She has two names, one friend, and zero clues about where to start. Only her end goal is clear; she wants to kill her husband. She meets Mr. Bakshi (Hemant Parekh), the first name on the list who has little information to give to her and Mr. Daljeet (Amerjit Deu) is nowhere to be found. While on her journey, Radhika is mugged, leaving her with minimal resources when her friend Aanand (Vikram Kocchar) comes to rescue.

A self-discovery movie locked in a thriller

While the movie is about Radhika’s quest to find her husband and kill him, she meets many interesting people along the way who help her discover herself. She meets her long lost friend Aanand, and they develop feelings for each other. She meets Saroj, whose husband left her when she was pregnant and now spent her days feeding the homeless. We also meet Ana (Rumana Molla), who wants to be a model but is trying to run away from her traumatic childhood. All these women are strong in their own way, and it is wonderful to see a movie that lets us see a movie that shows women thriving despite the troubles they have faced.

Watch out for Aahana Kumra

We have seen Aahana Kumra in a lot of web series and appreciated her work. But when you see her in this movie, you wish that we would see more of her. She seems earnest in her need to find her husband and persevere because he duped her. With Bawri Chhori, Aahana Kumra proves that she is more than capable of carrying a movie on her shoulders. Rumana Molla as Ana and Vikram Kocchar as Aanand also keep your eyes glued to the screen with their outstanding performances.

The movie could have been shorter

At under one and a half hour, the movie is short, but it could have been even shorter. The film would feel slow at times, and it would feel like nothing is really happening. But those moments don’t take anything away from the feel-good moments in the story.

WATCH OR NOT:

If you are looking for something short and feel-good packed with some suspense, then this is the movie for you. Aahana Kumra’s performance is exceptional, and we cannot wait to see more of her.
