Here comes one more movie during the times of lockdown that skipped the theatrical release and hit the OTT platform directly. Bhanumati & Ramakrishna features Salony Luthra and Naveen Chandra in lead roles and is supported by Harsha Chemudu, Kalpalatha, Appaji and Raja Chembolu. The movie is written and directed by debutante Srikanth Nagothi and the camera work is handled by Sai Prakash U. Let us see what this touted love story has to offer for the viewers.

A romantic tale full of promise and hope

Bhanumathi (Salony Luthra) is ditched by her boyfriend of five years Ram (Raja Chembolu) because he finds someone younger. Frustrated, Bhanumati decides to get over her broken relationship and continues to live her life like she always wanted to until she meets Ramakrishna (Naveen Chandra), a simple middle-class boy from Tenali. Ramakrishna joins the same company where Bhanu works and he reports to her. How they meet and eventually fall in love forms the crux of Bhanumathi & Ramakrishna.

The cast breathes life into their characters

Salony Luthra and Naveen Chandra do a great job at portraying their characters. The best part of the movie is the realistic portrayal of their love and chemistry. You usually look for a beautiful lead pair in terms of looks. But here we also get to see the inner beauty of the lead pair and this is what certainly matters for any love story to click. Salony and Naveen have delivered brilliant performances that will certainly be remembered as their best work when they look back at their careers in the future. It is heartening to see Ravikanth Perepu and Shalini Vadnikanti in cameos and they nailed it. Viva Harsha was at his usual best in generating laughs and the rest of the cast did their job perfectly well.

The strong writing married to a talented technical crew

Writer-director Srikanth Nagothi has clearly defined every character he’s penned. As the writing is crystal clear, the whole film comes together really well. The debutante director has surpassed our expectations. Added to it, the music by Vishal Bharadwaj was neat and the background score adds to the feel. Sai Prakash’s visuals are realistic and make you closer to the narrative.

WATCH OR NOT

Bhanumathi & Ramakrishna is a story of two people with different tastes and lifestyles before they meet and eventually how love blossoms between them. The narrative pattern is interesting and the writing keeps the viewers engaged. To sum up, it is definitely a good watch for a rainy weekend.

Audiences Hail Karnan As A Masterpiece In Tamil Cinema

It’s finally here! ‘Karnan‘ starring Dhanush and directed by Mari Selvaraj has hit the theatres today. Touted to be one of biggest social dramas of the year, the film has been gaining much hype with its poster releases, music videos and the powerful trailer. Karnan also stars Malayalam actor Rajisha Vijaya who makes her Tamil debut with this film, alongside other actors such as Lakshmipriya Chandramouli, Gouri Kishen, Lal, and Yogi Babu in important roles. The cinematography has been handled by Theni Easwaran. Mari Selvaraj gained huge prominence for his grating caste drama ‘Pariyerum Perumal‘ which stunned audiences and critics for its open narration of the horror of the caste divide in society. This time around, the director once again sets the story in the rural milieu with Dhanush playing the titular role and a saviour-like figure of the masses. The audiences have spoken and the reviews are nothing short of stupendous.
