Off late, we’ve seen many low budget Telugu flicks coming up with some exciting concepts. From the trailer, IIT Krishnamurthy seems to be the latest addition to this league. Directed by Sreevardhan, IIT Krishnamurthy features Prudhvi Dandamudi and Maira Doshi in lead roles and is ably supported by Vinay Varma, Sathya, and Anand Bharathi. The music for this movie is composed by Naresh Kumaran and cinematography is handled by Yesu and Gokul. Let us see if IIT Krishnamurthy is engaging enough with an interesting storyline and the required thrills.
The main plot is engaging
Krishnamurthy (Prudhvi Dandamudi), a student of IIT Mumbai comes to Hyderabad in search of his missing uncle. ACP Vinay Varma (Vinay Varma) sees a paper ad of this missing uncle and interacts with Krishna for more leads. In the process, they come to know that his uncle is dead. While the police initially believe it to be a natural death, Krishna is unconvinced. How the mystery unfolds forms the rest of IIT Krishnamurthy.
The casting is pitch-perfect
Prudhvi Dandamudi has an impressive screen presence and played it right with his character. He was subtle and never went overboard. Maira Doshi was charming as Prudhvi’s love interest. However, her role doesn’t have much prominence to the main plot. Vinay Varma has major screen space after the protagonist and did a commendable job. Banerjee was seen in the latter half and was good. Satya as Mahesh Babu provided the much-needed humor. The rest of the cast performed their parts well.
The technical standards are good
Director Sreevardhan was able to engage the audience till the very end in this corporate crime thriller and the viewers had to wait until the last scene to know how the mystery unfolded. Naresh Kumaran’s music and background score is impressive and holds the thrill factor. Yesu and Gokul’s camera work is classy and all the visuals look super glossy on screen. Editing is sharp and production values are grand. Every penny spent is translated on the screen.
WATCH OR NOT:
IIT Krishnamurthy is a decent corporate crime thriller that will hold the audience till the very end. However, few characters are inserted just for the sake of entertainment and have nothing much to do with the core plot. The good part of this movie is that they got all the basics right – a decent plot, good music, nice photography, impressive cast, and such. You may watch it once if you are a fan of the suspense genre.
