Fresh from the super success of his debut OTT movie, Krishna and his Leela, Siddhu Jonnalagadda is back again on the OTT platform with one his leela, Seerat Kapoor. This contemporary love story is titled Maa Vintha Gaadha Vinuma and directed by debutante Aditya Mandala. Siddhu also happened to be the writer for this movie and the music and background score is rendered by Sricharan Pakala and Rohit-Joy. Let us see if Siddhu and team were able to continue the magic they created with Krishna and his Leela.
A new-age rom-com
Siddhu (Siddhu Jonnalagadda) and Vineetha Venugopal (Seerat Kapoor) are in love and unintentionally get married while in Goa. Much to their dismay, this awkward marriage video goes viral in social media resulting in the cancellation of Vineetha’s brother marriage. How Siddhu deals with this chaos and embarrassment between their families and solves the issues forms the premise of Maa Vintha Gaadha Vinuma.
Sidhu’s character is largely an extension of what he portrayed in Krishna and his Leela. He was at ease playing a role in his familiar territory. Seerat was just okay in a role that does not have any glamour quotient. Tanikella Bharani and Fish Venkat are the pick among the rest of the lot and they leave an impression. Kamal Kamaraj played his part well and so are the rest of the cast.
Debutante director plays it safe and extracts the best from his technical crew
Aditya chose to play it safe with his debut directorial and manages to get everything right from his cast and crew. The music by Sricharan Pakala is a hangover from his Krishna and his Leela album while the background score by Rohit-Joy is above the bar. Visuals by Sai Prakash Ummadisingu gel well for this contemporary rom-com. The writing by Siddhu worked in parts and the usage of cuss words was forcibly inserted.
WATCH OR NOT:
Maa Vintha Gaadha Vinuma is yet another lightweight entertainer in the lines of Krishna and his Leela. The team partially succeeded in pulling off yet another love story in contemporary set up and has a message to the social media users as well. You may watch it if you have an appetite for this genre.
