Actor Ravi Dubey became a household name with the television soap opera Jamai Raja, which ran on Zee TV from 2014 to 2017. Unlike the conventional saas-bahu rivalry trope that ruled Indian television, the show pitted a saas (mother-in-law) against her jamai (son-in-law), a change that received a thumbs up from the audience. Such was the show’s popularity that after it went off air, a digital spinoff titled Jamai 2.0 was created in 2019 for streaming platform Zee5. The web series revolved around Jamai Raja‘s three main characters, Siddharth (Dubey), Roshni (Nia Sharma) and Durga Devi (Achint Kaur). We’re awaiting the second season on Friday, February 26.
While the Jamai franchise is clearly Ravi Dubey’s most popular work, he has also done an array of other television shows and films. Here are three that you should totally check out.
