The new Star Wars: The Bad Batch trailer shows the inter-galactic action in Disney and Lucasfilm’s upcoming animated show. The series will follow a group of clone troopers, Clone Force 99 aka The Bad Batch who were first introduced in the series Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008). The team is extremely capable and dangerous, but lack the compliance of other clones.
Set after the end of the Clone Wars and at the beginning of the Galactic Empire, The Bad Batch, comprising Hunter, Echo, Tech, Wrecker and Crosshair, will embark on dangerous missions and wacky adventures across the galaxy. The premise of the series is a lot like Suicide Squad, but with imperial clone troopers. In the movie timeline, the show takes place in the period between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. This period is one that is relatively less explored on screen in Star Wars media. Fans might be treated to some insights into the development of the Empire.
The series is scheduled for release on Disney+ Hotstar on Tuesday, May 4.
