After Sacred Games, Saif Ali Khan returns to the OTT scene with Tandav. The Prime Video original series is a political drama that promises to take the audience into the power-hungry world of Indian politics where morals are fickle, and scheming, deceit and treachery is rampant. Khan plays a young, ambitious and dynamic neta in the saga. Packed with an impressive ensemble cast, the show is highly anticipated.
One of the interesting things about Tandav is that it was shot inside the iconic Pataudi palace. The trailer shows Saif Ali Khan, who is the present Nawab of Pataudi, greet his followers from the balcony of Pataudi palace.
“I don’t mind giving it for shoots sometimes because it remains unused 340 days of the year,” Khan told Mid Day. “These days, film crews have become responsible and look after the venues, but (the idea of a shoot) still makes me nervous. Usually, I am more comfortable if they are filming around the exterior of the palace. But for Tandav, I made an exception (by shooting inside).”
“I think it is the palace that lends us the royal look,” he added. “Anyone standing there would look royal.”
Besides Khan, the series also stars Dimple Kapadia, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Sunil Grover, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Gauahar Khan and Kumud Mishra in important roles. The series will stream from Friday, January 15 on Amazon Prime Video.
