Jack Quaid, who plays Hughie on the show, has confirmed The Boys season three is starting filming, after posting a photo showing himself on a plane to Canada. The subversive take on the superhero genre, based on the comic books of the same name by Garth Ennis, has been a massive hit for Prime Video, becoming one of the most-streamed shows of 2019 and 2020. In addition to Quaid as Hughie, it stars Karl Urban as Butcher, Antony Starr as Homelander and Erin Moriarty as Starlight, as part of a larger ensemble.
Quaid confirmed there’s a good chance of a release in late 2021, sharing a photo of himself on a plane bound for Canada, where The Boys is filmed. The actor may not have stated this directly, but the caption of his post made it clear that he was travelling to work on the new set of episodes.
