During his presidency, Donald Trump handed out 73 pardons and 70 sentence commutations to high profile white-collar criminals and rappers (such as Lil Wayne). Netflix’s Tiger King star Joe Exotic was expecting clemency from Trump and was so confident in receiving it that he had a stretch limo standing by outside his prison in Fort Worth, Texas.
This is the stretch Limo standing by at #JoeExotic Fort Worth Lawyers office. I’m told they’re waiting on a call from the White House confirming the presidential pardon before heading to pick him up at the prison. @CBSDFW pic.twitter.com/1tJzQHefxD

However, when no such pardon came, he took to Twitter to express his outrage.
I was too innocent and too GAY to deserve a Pardon from Trump. I only mattered to Don Jr. when he needed to make a comment about me to boost his social media post. Boy were we all stupid to believe he actually stood for Equal Justice? His corrupt friends all come first. pic.twitter.com/ysGfwnqlHi

Joe is serving a 22-year sentence for participating in a murder-for-hire plot and violating wildlife laws.
Carol Baskin, who now owns Joe Exotic’s Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park, was relieved that Joe would remain in prison.
“From the very time that he was sentenced I have worried about there being a presidential pardon that could undo all of the hard work that went into bringing this person to justice. When today at noon a new president was sworn in, I felt like I was finally safe from that threat.”
